Oncology Care Coordinators

Hospital Jihlava and its Comprehensive Oncology Centre (COC)is expanding its services to include oncology care coordinators. Their goal is to speed up and streamline the process of examination and initiation of treatment for patients suspected of having malignant tumors and to provide them with support in one of the most challenging situations in life.

The service is primarily intended for healthcare professionals who need to quickly and correctly determine further diagnostic and treatment procedures for their patients.

"The purpose of coordinators is to speed up the patient's journey from the first suspicion to confirmation of the diagnosis and the start of treatment. They help to ensure continuity of examinations, correct timing of individual steps, and rapid discussion of the case in a multidisciplinary team," explains the director of the Hospital Jihlava Ing. Alexander Filip.

The main objective of the service is to speed up and streamline oncological care, reduce waiting times for examinations and treatment, and ensure a smooth and transparent continuity of the entire process. These are not preventive hotlines, but rather support for patients already undergoing examination or treatment.
