Pharmacy

A hospital pharmacy is a pharmacy with the expert departments providing highly specialised pharmacy care. It also includes a health aids shop with a wide range of medical supplies.

For the public, the pharmacy provides:

• Dispensing of prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
• Dispensing of medical devices on vouchers, sale of supplementary products.
• Preparing medicinal products (magistraliter) including sterile preparations with antimicrobial additives and preparations with medicinal cannabis.
• Dispensing on application forms of private outpatient facilities.
• Information service on pharmaceuticals and supplementary products.
• Individual consultations with a clinical pharmacist are available by appointment to discuss your medication, side effects of medications and the correct use of the medicines you are taking.

For the hospital, the pharmacy provides:

• Supplying medicines and medical material.
• Preparing medicines, preparing some diagnostics and testers.
• Centralized preparation of cytostatics.
• Pharmacy service for the clinical evaluation of drugs.
• Services of clinical pharmacy.
• Information and consultation service for the hospital staff.
• Preparation of radiopharmaceuticals in the nuclear medicine department.

The pharmacy carries out teaching activities and it is a workplace for:

• Internship of students of pharmaceutical faculties and colleges.
• Practical pharmacy and hospital pharmacy specialty training.
